Our Story

1920-1930:- JL Morison Smith & Jones incorporated in the UK as a trading company of consumer products. The company manufactures and sells healthcare and skin care products in the UK and the Indian subcontinent.

1930-1940:- the company is incorporated in India as per Company Law

1940- 1950:- JLM Smith & Jones buys rights from Beiersdorf to sell Nivea Products

1950-1970:- JLM establishes itself in India as a master manufacturer and distributor

1970-1980:- Manufacturing facilities are set up in India in Bangalore and Mumbai

1980-1990:- Our Chairman Mr. Raghu Mody buys controlling stake in JL Morison

JLM manufactures (at Waluj, Aurangabad), markets and distributes Nivea products in India soon being known as the Nivea company associated with their deep blue pantone.

Our Chairman professionalizes the company bringing in some of the best talent from the FMCG industry to grow the company and nurture our brands

Nivea exits JLM post a healthy run with a robust distribution set up for them by JLM to form their subsidiary in India.

The company’s focus shifts to own brand Morisons Baby Dreams to grow our portfolio of baby products

Leaders Health Care manufacturing facility to Swiss standards was set up in Kolkata shifting base from Bangalore

Varunn Mody joined the business and added partner brands like Equal, St. Ives, Playboy fragrances from Coty and Bigen

JLM Partnership with Bigen


Sakshi Mody (wife of Varunn Mody) enters the business.

Shift begins from being known as a Nivea company to one with its own brands in portfolio.




2012 –

with a focus on Own Brands – Relaunch of Morisons Baby Dreams as our Flagship Brand. 

Office relocated from a small nondescript property in Worli to one of the
best commercial complexes in




2013 –

Introduced New Products in MBD.

Consolidation of partner brands- Bigen and Emoform.

Phased out own brands like Zero Gravity, Fresh Valley





2015 –

Rasoi bottling plant started production of Morisons baby dreams feeding range under the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Shashi Mody (Chairman’s
daughter in law)

JLM made its business fully integrated and real time by implementing SAP thus
bringing in deeper visibility, financial control and better risk management




2016 –

Waluj restarted to manufacture Bigen.

Celebrity brand ambassador – Sir Ravindra Jadeja for Bigen Men’s Beard promotion




2020 –

JLM touches 100cr for the first time

Re – launch of Morisons with introduction of Germ Kill Spray in the COVID PANDEMIC

MBD becomes highest contributing brand by revenue
